View Full Version : Antiques Road Show
Tonight, there was Andreas Rhude and others talking about the wood runabout on Lake Minnetonka. Good job.

Just saw that. He did a good job and was pretty accurate on costs/prices AFAIK.
WE saw it too. Cool boats. We tried to watch the copyright date in the credits, but they were too small.
See that quarter-million dollar watch?

Nice Job Andreas. Did one of the boats belong to Bill Nelson from the glass company and is there a wooden boat boat show on Minnetonka?

It was a very nice segment. Loved the watch, too.

Great segment!!
That guy with the watch was genuinely giddy ...
"Well ... how do I get it home?" I about fell out of my chair laughing at that one!! That watch was BEAUTIFUL ... and complicated!

Thanks for the nice comments. The show will be re-broadcast on Saturday 08 January on Twin Cities Public TV (Minneota). Don't know about other markets.
None of those boats belonged to Bill Nelson (don't have any clue who he is). Yes, there is an antique and classic boat show (NOT wooden) on Lake Minnetonka. 10-11 September 2005 at Maynard's in Excelsior, MN. Last year we had TWO antique and classic boat shows on Lake Minnetonka. Check us out at www.acbs-bslol.com (http://www.acbs-bslol.com)

By the by, I am the one that suggested this segment to WGBH, the show producers. Ya know, Minnesota the land of 10,000 lakes and all that! After a great deal of marketing, they took the bait! Once they said yes, I spent 1-2 hours every day for 2 1/2 months working out all the details, lining up boats, getting waivers and insurane certificates from each and every owner, finding a spot to film, arranging lunch, etc...! And I do have a real job too! They filmed us in June 2004 and the six hours of filming was edited down to those few minutes you saw on screen! Lara Spencer - the host - did take after take after take on the docks! It was pretty funning. She's quite the prima donna!

We loved seeing you and the boats, (and the watch!), but what cracked Mary and I up was the guy at the very end while the credits were running, when he said "Well we don't need an alarm system at our house"
