Do you put a prop on that thing and use it as a side thruster?

You can cut keel bolts with that kind of saw? Dang, they must be in REALLY bad shape...

Rammed by a sawfish, I see. What a shame.

John, some pictures are worthless without a fraction of a thousand words. Well, not worthless, but it do raise questions in ones mind.

Is that a classic truck I see? Sneaking around behind the boat?

Took me the best part of the day too.
ruined one cheap skilsaw blade, my wifes best pruning blade on the sabre saw and no doubt some damage to that kids saw. My arms don't seem to work very well either.

A slight leak/ seep which I have been chasing in a languid kind of way for a few years now. It always seems to be the job that I haven't got time for in previous years.
Some time ago ( 10, 15? 20? years) I chased out the first half of the lead to re bed and check the bolts. This is the last half. No movement there, the bolts are pristine and the 1907 dross I dragged out was just unbelievable.Plus a couple of plates of lead where they had tipped some more onto the cooled keel at casting time.
Quite a sucessful day. I'm downright smug.and tired.

Its my jailbar Ford Donn. and Dave... over to the right in the distance , thats the scow Jane Gifford . she's hogged a further 6 in at each end since they pulled her out and apart . I'd be surprised if she ever sees water again. :(

Aw Geeze John, I was so focused on the keel/saw issue I completely overlooked the back ground.

Damn, when will people learn about old wooden vessels!?!

What year is that 'ferd'?

'46 Dave. It has a job to do every spring and that is help to fix up the boat for the season. Parked the rest of the time apart from the odd job... pick up a dinghy or something.
She's a bit agricultural to drive ( part of the character). As I was sliding to a prolonged stop when the idiot did an unsignalled U turn in front of me coming home last night, I did think some unsavoury thoughts about cross ply tyres. The brakes ain't exactly ABS either. Still. she's useful.

Do you want pics of the scow or would you rather not know? I can snap some next time down there if you're interested. I have to go down there sometime to check my "cutting the keel off" bait anyway.
