Apfelfahrt 2004

I have written about this last year as well. The Flensburg "Apfelfahrt" (apple-race) is kind of the little brother of the RumRegatta.

We started this "Race" as homage to the Flensburg fishermen who used to sail out in autumn to get apples from apple-plantations in Denmark to sell them in Flensburg. So, like them we sail out with all our boats load tons of apples and bring them back to Flensburg were we then have a 2 day Market in our Museumharbour (a good way to gather money for the Museumharbour. Each year we earn about 7.000 USD). Here are some pictures:

Felt like going autumn sailing this afternoon but the jeep is still in the shop so no tow hitch :( Thanks for the virtual experience.
