I just returned from the south of France, where i spent time with a good friend who belongs to a traditional boat society.
He asked me to come along to a meeting of societies and I took photos of the day.
It was an absolutely wonderful time, with not only sun and time on the water,
but also great down-home food, wine, and great people.
I thought I'd share -

I dont know alot about the workings of these sailing vessels, so dont ask,
tho I am sure there are plenty of folks on the forum who do.
You can however feel free to ask me about
the bread, wine, sardines, music..........

Enjoy. Michael

 Looks like a great trip. Aren't their sardines fantastic? Never had anything like 'em anywhere else.

The sardines ARE amazing, everytime I go there I hope they are in season and someone has a grill fired up. I am also inlove with the oysters, I ate dozens during my 5 days there.
But what surprised me most was the smoked mackerel - it was so moist and full of flavor, i was expecting something drier from being over the fire for so long. They were a highlight of the trip.

Great pics!

I hope you didn't just stick to the "eating-part" of the french meal.
As my grandmother used to say: "fish need to swim" ;)

It would not be a french meal if it did not include copious quantities of wine. smile.gif

altho there are hordes of photos, i believe if
you took a sampling, you may find many a bottle of wine showing within the images...
