This is a boat, and does anyone know her final fate? She was a a big Bugeye, and had been a beauty. When I saw her about 1960 she was in the inner harbor at Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
She was in terrible condition. It looked as though you could kick your way in one side of her, and out the other. I was told that she had sunk at the dock at least once. Someone was living on board.
Later I found out why she was named as she was. She had been built as a fisheries patrol vessel for the state of Maryland, and the Fish Commissioners names were Smith, Jones, and Brown.
