Temple to the Wind- novelized account of NGH and the RELIANCE

Jack Aubrey Commands- an historical companion to the naval world of Patrick O'Brian

Two original 16" x 20" framed Rosenfeld photos of the America's Cup defender RESOLUTE sailing off Cold Spring Harbor in 1915- simply stunning (my wife found them at a junk store where the guy insisted RESOLUTE was a schooner!)

Correction: off Larchmont Yacht Club. The Rosenfeld Collection at Mystic Seaport.com sells prints of the same photo in @6" X 8" format with more info about the original glass plate (which showed VANITIE in the background before cropping and printing)

My wife handed me a Christmas card with the following written within 'Good for $1000 of repairs to the Dragon. I love you'.

Is that a great wife or what?

Merry Christmas everyone.

Those 'gift certificates' can be the best! Spend wisely! :D

Art, if you are referring to my 'gift certificate', then yes, it's labor included.

We are going to scarf in a board on one side of the combing, take the whole combing down to bare wood and epoxy, and then refinish the combings and coach roof. Just another phase of bringing the Dragon up to snuff.

In my dream world the next phase is to rip off the old deck and put in teak (the deck that's on her now is plywood from the mid-90's. Nothing wrong with it, just doesn't look that great). Eventually my goal is to have her as fast and beautiful as any 40-plus year old is going to be.
