I was down on Arcturus yesterday talking to the skipper Bruce. He's just got back from the east coast and has been aboard Heron AND Elsie!! I'm not sure where he got aboard Elsie , ... he missed the WB show so It might have been in Nova Scotia at the yard?Yes I think that's right.( we talked about a lot of different things)

Hi, John. Your friend probably boarded "Elsie" somewhere on the coast of New England. The yacht has been taken there from Nova Scotia (about 300 NM) to do the "show circuit" this summer, and to be near the home port of the broker in Rhode Island. If Bruce was not aboard her at the Wooden Boat Show, it was likely at the Maine Boatbuilder's Show (correct title?). She has not been in Nova Scotia since May. I hope he liked her - she's a pretty girl. I particularly like the subtle details that Covey Island works into their boats, such as the signature of the CIB logo in a spot that is in plain sight yet most unobtrusive. Other really slick but easily overlooked details are the subtle refinements of the sail plan by Ed Burnett and the hidden hydraulic centreboard designed by Tad Roberts. Somebody is going to get to own a real head-turner of a yacht.

She came into Boothbay Harbor for the night on Sunday. She anchored out front and looked very pretty in the sunset. It seemed like there was only one person aboard. Didn't see her sailing.

It was funny talking to him. He'd say something like" ...and I went aboard this beautiful Herreshoff built by Covey Island" I'd say " Oh ,Elsie... yes hmmm, I know people who've had some input into her...."
he'd say" and there's this 390 just been launched.. " Heron" I'd say" I've been following her build on the internet" LOL
:D :D
Nothing as good as seeing em in the flesh though.
(Gawd, Arcturus is seriously good boat).
