That's it MMD, step one of the twelve step program to kick the Graemlin habit.
We here for you. Have a cup of coffee and tell us about yourself.
Thank goodness the software for these Forums is not like the one used for the Turbo Diesel Register aka TDR Forums. They have all sorts of animated Greamlins, gag.

Edit to add the laugh. My daughter fell off the window ledge in the middle of the post, and I had to run to check on her. Window ledge - don't ask.

Well it ( the regatta) was back in feb guys. We went out on Sat ( boat full of our American relatives actually) but it was typical lets have nice weather monday to friday and bad on sat/sun kind of stuff. 5 to 15 knot forecast, 18 to 30 in reality, overcast and a bit threatening. Some rain. we motored around. too many small kids bouncing about. We went up to a point UP the harbour and anchored off a shallow bay. I felt my way in with the depth sounder to find the shelf. 21 metres.. ,19,12,10,2.5 just like that. We stopped in 10 but that shelf was only about 8 metres off our beam while we were hanging to the tide. About 2 knots of it. Anyway, we had a nice afternoon. We loosed the kids on the beach (all 7 of them )and had a good wander around doing the usual crab hunt etc.. The wind abated over the afternoon and I was ready to sail back when the rain came in. As we motored out a good 30 knots clocked us so I was glad I wasn't sailing. We were only 3/4 hour away from our berth . Nice to get our guests out on the water but not very inspiring weather.
Well, John, I'm sorry that you didn't have splendid weather for your guests. From our present perspective of -3 C. and the leftovers of a wee storm of snow and ice pellets yesterday, sailing in a bit of threatening rain to go crabbing on a beach sounds pretty darned good right now. I've never really minded winter - rather like it, actually - but it is time for this one to be over.
(Edit: dyslexic fingers again!)

Not one of the pretty ones methinks.
She certainly is an impressive yacht. I was fortunate to see her in full regalia off Bequia in the southern Caribbean a few years ago. Stuff of dreams, no?

We had 2 days sailing - perfect autumn conditions, 22C degrees on Saturday and breeze about 5 to 10 knots and 26C on Sunday with a bit more breeze. Our boat loves it between 10 and 15 knots. We set out to learn how to sail on and off our mooring and we did it. Very pleased with ourselves, as we will leave the ob at home from now on. It is very difficult lifting it out of the dinghy and onto the bracket when there is any kind of chop on the water.
There were 2 big gaffers out on Sunday, both with topsails set and moving like queens on the water. We tried to join them for a photo but could not get anywhere near them. All in all, 2 great days.

What colour were they Jeff? Acrospire and Sayonara?( both white) or Waitangi( black)?
Waitangi is due here sometime but she ain't here yet.
Glad your boat is going well. What furlers are those BTW?
Jeff Robinson

One was definitely Acrospire as I have seen her out before, the other was probably Sayonara if she is white. I still have their pictures in my minds eye - they looked so good, rail down in 15 knots, every beautiful cream sail full and drawing ...
I don't know where Waitangi is a the moment, I have not been past her usual pen for a while.
We have Ronstan furlers - they work OK even if they are not bronze!
