The sailboat may be an L. F. Herreshoff design and the powerboat is a Penbo.

That looks like a Concordia Yawl.
Jack
Dan Brayton's DIVA, the only boat built to this LFH design. 36' ketch, pre- DIDIKAI design. Built in 1984 by Brad Story of longleaf pine and cedar. For sale. He took my place at the show.

Thad,
I wish I had seen it. Is the design in Sensible Cruising Designs? I guess I just saw that star on the bow and two masts and assumed Concordia. Too hasty it seems.
Does anyone have any additional photos of this boat or links to same?

The star on the bow is misleading. There was a Concordia there, but it was on the next dock.

I must have been really busy in Nov/Dec 2000 to have missed that.
For sale you say?
...Let's see....Alas, it's surely not in my budget.

That Tancook whaler, the 'Vernon Langille', was actually built from lines taken off a halfmodel shaped by Mark Swanson, one of the apprentices at the Apprenticeshop (then in Bath, where she was built).
The model was of course influenced by the original Tancook boats but not strictly an old design. Jay Paris, a naval architect who lived nearby, advised.

The sailboat on the far dock in #11 is a W-76, "Wild Horses" or "White Wings". Don't know which one was headed that way...

And "Elsie" is a blend of L.F.H.'s "Bounty" and "Tioga", boats that were already nearly identical. "Pet" is probably the same, or one or the other. "Elsie" also for sale (http://www.coveyisland.com/elsie.html)

Based on Matt Murphy's Rudderposts blog http://wbeditor.typepad.com/ I'd say she was 'Wild Horses'.

It is a Hylan Roz, not sure if it was Redhead. The owner is having a 10 foot longer version of Rozinante designed, I think, by Doug Hylan.
Pet is a Bounty, but Mary and I liked Elsie better. :D

DID YOU KNOW?...(about the Tancook Whaler)....quoting from an old book about design...boat construction ...and worldwide cruising...."It was incredible that Mr. Vernon Langille had designed the "White one" without so much as drawing a line on paper, or even whittling a model for a pattern. He had merely tacked together eight molds, or life-sized cross-sections, gauging them, one after another, by eye, before immediately starting to build."...fantastic!...what say you MMD? file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/kenneth%20moe/My%20Documents/My%20Pictures/VernonLangille.jpg

Anyone know what the boat in photo #7 is? The "Lewis...." something or other, built in Essex. From what I can see of the stern it reminds me of a pinky, but the position of the masts reminds me of a Block Island boat. Anyone?

The Lewis Story was built for the Essex Shipbuilding museum by Harold Burnham, right on the ways next to their location.

There was a notable collection of LFH designs and takeoffs at the show. The one I most enjoyed seeing was the Prudence, built in NZ 2004. I had walked past her a couple of times, but Mr Howland told me to go back for a look. Good advice.

The big catboat Cimba is moored in Sesuit Harbor, Dennis, on Cape Cod. The mast is real thick and heavy. Beautiful cat. My Redwing is about 100 feet away from her. Another Crosby catboat Maggie is right next to her.
