I had the chance to sail on Courageous this past weekend and was able to snap a few photos while the regatta was happening around us.It was quite aweflaminsome.Wooden sticks every where and some power boats too. :D

This I believe is the boat I mistakenly said was a 10 sq.meter in my preview thread. The sail says 4x...Does that stand for 4 sq.meters? http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid77/p97763848c6482580a0604489adaece63/fb35d76d.jpg

The wind was light for most of the day but for an hour or so we were rocketing at close to 9 knots. We buried the bow a couple of times(insert really big GRIN here. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid77/pba827748f9c1202a30c8e4ebaacfe1e6/fb35c5cf.jpg

I've just had an absolute %^&* of a week.to top it off, last night my van got rearended by a pillock in a 20 ton truck. 3 of my guys are hurt in one fashion or another ( they all came to work though... that says something).life is not good.

Your photos mate, they make me feel a lot better. thanks for putting em up.
I particularly like this ketch. Do you know its name?

but the gaff boat sliding through in the background... what's that? a P boat? I love it anyway.( that's a good idea putting big format photos into the imagestation)

Hi John ,I'm glad that I put a little wind in your sails. smile.gif I did see the photos of your van accident I didn't get a chance to respond due to time limitations on my home computer(It seems every one except me in my household is addicted to video poker and I have to wait for an opening and then get the work done)It was very difficult to keep track of all those boats on that day so the name of her is gone.Alot of those vessels came from out of state so it may have been a one time shot.We just sailed through the center of the regatta and I was clicking away at whatever looked interesting. If I'm in the harbour and I see her again I'll get more info. There were quite a few ketches there, probably because the Herreshoff boat yard/museum is up the bay a few miles.Unfortunately I am beginner at recognizing boat types.I've live in R.I.for most of my 44 years but have only become fascinated with boats for the past 10 years or so.There is a lot to learn but that's what keeps me young(at heart)..Till the next time Dan L.
