For multiple reasons, we'd narrowed it down to the Yanmar 3JH4E or the 4JH4E
But then I found this :cool:

Nice rig. And in Maine waters at least, no chance of overheating. :D
They dropped a new Yanmar in the owner's Concordia up at Samples in Boothbay a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure which model. She got new Dynel decks, too. She was supposed to be relaunched by Fathers Day, but I don't think it's going to happen. They had the other NY 30 rigged, though. Pretty impressive.

go with the 4JH4E...more bang fer the buck...coupled with a max prop or similar.....

Looks as if we've been wasting oodles of boating time on useless extras, things like hulls, decks, masts, etc.
It has less to do with the size of the engine than with how much HP the prop can absorb.
