That is a salutary tale for anyone involved with wooden boats.

The correct staggering of butts is always essential.

Moral: beware of boats built quickly by inexperienced builders.

I sail on a Gokstad replica so it was pretty sobbering to read this article.Fortunately our ship build was led by two experienced boatbuilders along with the amateur help.
