That first power boat coming straight at me was scary, glad he stopped!

They left out, "complete idiot, in newly-purchased over-sized plastic power boat, coming head-on at you!!!"

Actually, I thought they got one of the answers wrong - from memory - I did the test the other day, there is one relating to an obstruction and telling you the answer is to pass on the green side - but both sides are showing two nav lights (ie 2 red, 2 green) - doesn't that mean that both sides are obstructed?

This brings up a question, I was cruising alone at about 20 knots on a very dark night on a lake in north Ga. at the helm of a 21 foot proline that I owned ten years ago. I was vigillently keeping watch while enjoying the cool mountain air and periodicaly shining the spotlight to insure that the way was clear. As I approached the dam, there was a point of land about 1/4 mile ahead off the starboard bow with an island half that distance in between myself and the point, (the island was just a small mountain top about 100 yds in diameter). I decided to turn to starboard and swing around the island and head back in the direction from which I came, as I made the turn I spotlighted to port only to see a small skiboat adrift with two pubescent lovers engaged in a fever of knecking and without a single light showing. I made a hard turn to port and then another turn starboard thus narrowly avoiding a broadside....... Who would have been at fault had this situation ended differently?

Realistically, I think, BOTH vessels...
