help with sailboat ID

This boat belongs to Leftish, he knows a little bit of it's history but is looking for more info.
It is 15' 9" LOA with a 6' 9" beam. And there's no denying she has a nice full shape!

It has an unusual motor mount:

The mast looks like is was just a sapling - spiral grain and knots even. But Bill used it for years. She's got a gaff rig with a small jib. We think she looks like a cross between a Beetle Cat and an Alden O-boat.

Was she built locally? I've never seen that cutout in the stern (I'm guessing it's and outboard attachment).

I don't know the boat, but he ought to have her weight on her keel, not on her bilges on jack stands.

Steve thanks again for coming out to Yarmouth with your "crew" to take the photos of the sailboat. Here is what I know: she is cedar over oak frames. Centerboarder, gaff-rigged sloop; she has a motor well cut out of the stern deck. She is believed to have been built in Stonington, Maine area around 1930's for summer boat livery trade. I called Franklin Billing of Billings Marine some years ago and he allowed that he may have built four or five of these just before the war for rentals then sold them after the war. But he couldn't be sure and had no records. I have never seen another like it and I have been looking. I have contacted the Deer Isle historical society. No luck. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps with some help from Steve and others next spring we will take her lines off. Jack, I keep 8x8 posts under her skeg and the forward part of her keel to distribute the weight evenly all around.
