When my wife and I were passing a few weeks at Man O'War Cay, we had the pleasure of seeing Hawksbill, a magnificent 60' or so motorboat (possibly a 20/80 motorsailer) moored just of our dock. Does anyone know anything about this beauty? White hull, clipper bow, hails from Harwich Port MA.
Thanks for any info.

AndyThere was a boat named Hawksbill docked at the Essex Island Marina , Essex Conn during the 60's. She was designed byAlden had a large doghouse type cabin and lare cockpit, flush deck forward, clipper bow, with one mast, was mostly a power vessel, She was built for and owned by writer Bill Hawks fromNew York. She spent some winters south and some at Minnefords in city island. She was very bautiful and hope she still is. Hope this was some help Tom Ward

From p. 123, 'The Guide to Wooden Power Boats':
HAWKSBILL- 56'0" x 15'0", Designed by John G. Alden, Built by Hodgdon Bros., Inc., East Boothbay, Maine, 1965.
I've seen her at Man O'War also and in Maine and Cape Cod in summers. Pretty substantial, huh?

Thanks. She is one pretty boat . I'm not usually a powerboat fan but she could change my preferences!
