Springtime is the worst, for the northerlies are at full strength, right on the nose. Evidently, for those who have insurance, the insurers require you to be gone by June.
He points out that if you can wait until July, the northerlies abate and make it much more pleasant. The storms consistently don't arrive until much later, almost fall.
He does play by play of the coastline geography/Pacific/Sea of Cortez influence on the wind. Talks about specific headland weather, and making "jumps" in weather windows to the next anchorage. When to take advantage of the offshore night wind: all kinds of good stuff to know should you find yourself on the way to San Diego, and points north, from Cabo San Lucas.
He also mentions the traditional sail route to San Francisco from the south: via Hawaii. . . ;)
