I recently restored a 16' double open ended lapstrake lifeboat (converted to a gaff-rigged sloop) and am trying to find some history on her. Purchased near Seattle, no name. Bowstem imprinted with 16.0', 5.8', 2.36', 12PER, 22952, FNE. The boat dimensions are evident, as is the 12 person capacity; I assume the date refers to Feb 29, 1952 as date of manufacture, and FNE as the MIC. However, FNE has been transferred a couple of times since the 1980s according to a USCG web site, and I haven't heard from the current holder of FNE. Can anyone help out with information on this boat or how I might track her history?
