I've bought this boat which is in Sydney, but has to sail to Hobart. So how about we appoint the Wild DIngo Captain (with an advisory committee consisting of ME(I'm just the bloody owner RIGHT!!!!!) and Mike Field (this is not a normal arrangement.... think up a title for him) Tony Hunt to be in charge of weather reporting and Skuthorp , I dunno what are we gunnado with him. Phil Young will record the details, in his usual literary style/. What I'm thinking is there must be several ofyou Amercan dudes overloaded with money who will pay heaps to sail with Captain Wild Dingo and offset my costs.Unfortunatetely the Aussies have filled up the berths till there's only one left, so BID UP.Hell we may even be able to franchise this operation if we can get the appropriate photographs and such and the correct corporate profile.
Can I help?
I have done that leg at 37,000 feet about 10 years ago.
Just keep OZ on the right, right!

You're straight on the (unofficial ) committee Jim. We'll value you're opinion from 1 metre even though we've got no use from the high altitude stuff. I am concerned that our Captain has not logged on.

Sydney to Hobart. Well, I was just recently (like, a couple of hours ago) encouraged to think about taking a sabbatical for a month or three and What I'm thinking is maybe I'll fly down to OZ and help you upside down folk sail said boat to Hobart. Only catch is we have to leave on Boxing day. Lot's of company on the trip and all you see!
And some of you know me well enough to know I'd do it! ;)

I've read that post again Shane, and I can't see where I was gonna pay you- but I spose we could come to some arrangement if a big enough cheque comes in from ebay. I might need some publicity materials- photographs and such to get this off the ground. A captain's hat and a parrot would be about right I expect.

I dun know, Sailing with the Wild Dingo, the other Aussies, and the Tazmanians. might be a bit like sailing with Bill Tillman. Blowing a gale, we're barely off an iron-bound lee shore, mast is gone by the board, rudder popped off at the gudgeons, hell, no mind, now where's that bottle of black rum? Ah, there she is. We're OK now. NO FEAR. Wake me when she strikes lads.

Shamus, you beauty! What have you bought? I volunteer for foremast hand, up there i'd get at least some forewarning of what Shane was piloting us into.
Glad we've got the cook sorted though, priorities, priorities!

Dingo, Lad.... Surely YOU would have realized when I said we couldn't leave SYDNEY until BOXING DAY..... I meant as part of the Sydney-Hobart Race!!!! As in, like, I thought I *might* have the opportunity to do S-H in '05 and now it looks as though the boat may not be there, but it got me thinking and you see, I thinks I needs to go walkabout for 4-6 weeks next winter.... What better place than downunda?
SWMBO actually even said that would be okay.

.
Be patient with him, Dave -- this is our Dingo, remember? (If you'd written it in Smilies all would have been well. :D smile.gif  redface.gif ;)   )
You know why your missus reckons a trip to Oz would be okay, don't you? She wants to come too....

Sorry guys, been away pulling engine out of boat for reconditioning, as I reckon The old dingo will need an engine to get us there. Should be all fixed up in the next week or so.
