Dreaming about a CC Connie are we now Alan? I don't know anything about them, beyond the surface. They would have a better place for a tall-drink-o-water at the helm than your Sea Skiff, I'll wager

Have you found a home for the Sea Skiff yet? Just curious, I'm not personally interested.

Not unless I had a place on the water, Jack, and lots of extra money...

But they're interesting to look at.

The Sea Skiff has yet to find a good home, although I had a long talk last night with a capable restorer, whose late father (it turns out) I knew for many years. This wooden boat guy knows how big a project it is, and has learned the economics of "big" wooden boats around here the hard way. It would be a good project for someone with lots more hours than money. No rocket science needed, just lots of hours...

A Connie might be your place on the water Alan.? I could look it up, but what are the production dates? I seem to think the quality of most CC offerings went down right around 1960, but I'm not sure of that.

The notion of a large cabin cruiser as a summer cottage almost always runs on the rocks of cost these days. Unless you could moor it at the friend's place on Lake Michigan you mentioned earlier. Then, assuming it's up to snuff, a splash of paint and varnish through your use, a coat of bottom paint by the yard(BTW, our Sea Skiff only got bottom paint when needed, about every three years on fresh water)and away ya go.

I think it would be wonderful. And much cheaper than a place on the lake. Plus, you could really go places. What adventure!
