This had to be done before trying to fit the new sternpost. We didn't want to take a chance that I'd drill the bolt hole off-center again, so we drilled the new floor and fit it so the bolt hung in the center of the keelson. That's a drill rod hanging down there.

The end of the keelson was split and rotten, so that section had to be cut out. The keelson is a laminate anyway, so it made it a little easier to get the top edge flat.

The new piece was epoxied in place using wedges as clamps. Yep, I know, it's white oak. We'll see what happens here. If it fails, we'll try again.

That's all there is for now. That sternpost is going to take a while to carve. I'd like to have it finished before they start to move boats into the shed. That way I can make all the dust I want.
