View Full Version : Mini battleship

Thinking back a little while.... I came across images of a scaled-down replica of a battleship that someone in Maine (I think) built and launched.
Does this ring any bells with anyone?

I've seen it.
It was a scale model of the
Bismarck. The gentleman had built it with a
compartment between the stacks. Included a steering train and electric motor for drive.
From the pictures I recall he would trailer it to
Squam and Winnepausakee lakes And motor about.
He had installed stereo speakers so he could play
Wagner. I tried to find the website, but to no avail. It was a link off a model boatbuilding site. If I come across it I'll send it out
Take care, Barry

Oh , I have seen others, just can't recall where at present. Seems in 'Boating' there was an article about a miniature 'ship', not long ago...how to navigate with the big boys, or something like that.. :D :D

"Ships" of about that size are, or at least were, used to train Navy Harbor Pilots. My Division Officer, a Lt, was Saratoga's Pilot. Awsome duty for a young man.

I love it! Can you imagine the on-lookers?
Do the guns work? What a thing to clear out the jetskis.

Yeah, but finding potatoes small enough for the guns could be a problem...
