I was working in the basement when this flock came by .I'm picking out which one I want for Thanksgiving.
I know it's hard to tell the exact shape of the transom from here but I'll get a close up if the sun ever comes out again. The center beam is soft for about 4-5 inches .Are there any recomendations on how to attack this project in a step by step,layman terms project .I've looked at quite a few books in stores and the libraries but they either are to vague or aren't clear enough for me.

Looks good to me. My quess is you probably have an occasional deer too. :D fresh venison :D . This works for me too, one day last fall I had 2 deer sleeping about 50 feet behind my boat shed. Got to get new glasses, didn't see a twig between me and it. But all was not lost I got a big buck the following week.
