Hello all,
Since it's too cold in Maine still to play outside I'm still running small experiments in the shop inside with different snake oils...I was wondering does anyone know where I might purchase some Detco Crystal in Maine? I was also wondering is the CPES available off the shelf anywhere or do I need to order it online. I just wanted to play with some small amounts and do travel enough throughout the state to stop by and get it in a store. Thanks for any help!

I'm pretty sure that WasteMarine carries Detco. You can always order it by mail. I get my CPES through the mail.

Detco and CPES is a great combination. That's what I use, and It's by far the easiest to apply and the most UV resistant varnish that I've ever used.

Another great thing about Detco is that you can apply it in cold weather. I've used it in my 45 degree garage with no problems.

Thanks Scott...looks like I'll use Mail order. I checked the closest West here and they didn't have the detco on the shelves..

There is the wooden boatbuilders show in Portland Maine this weekend (march 22-23) - sure to be suppliers there. Also, Progressive epoxy (www.epoxyproducts.com/marine.html) sells a high solids penetrating epoxy (ESP 155) and they are in NH - about 50 minutes from Kittery.

Thanks Paul,
Yes, I'm going to the Boatbuilders Show. After such a long winter up here I wouldn't miss it for the world. I usually load up with enough sales info and samples to satisfy my info fetish for a few months. :)

Bill-
call DETCO directly- they'll give you a better deal than West. I don't work for either of them- I just hate throwing away money...
