The classic wooden daysail schooner Shearwater (http://www.shearwatersailing.com/index.html), located in NY harbor, is looking for a captain.

Be part of an elite team and friendly environment on the decks of a magnificent 82 foot Schooner. Our elegant and classic 1929 sailing yacht provides an intimate and sophisticated ambiance for our guests. The ideal person must be able to work well with many types of people to create a comfortable environment for guests on both Charters and Public Sails.
Responsibilities:
-safe navigation of the vessel and everyone on board
-supervising whole crew
-steering the vessel, sails and lines handling
-do maintenance
-greet guests, answer questions, interact verbally with all guests creating a friendly atmosphere, observe guests and responds to any additional requests
-fill out all the paperwork at the end of each sail
-responsible for inventory and making orders
-follow the orders and instructions of those you report to immediately and without delay
Qualifications:
-3 years of sailing experience as captain
-100 ton inland masters, with sail endorsement
-high school diploma
-great communication skills
-friendly attitude
-maintenance knowledge is a plus
