Hello there !

I'm posting this on the recommendation of one of the Wooden Boat staff in the hope that somebody might be able to help me.

I'm looking to buy a copy of "Chris-Craft: The Essential Guide". It's for my Dad and is his (very late) Fathers day present. If anybody knows where I can buy a copy (even 2nd hand) I'd be most grateful.

BTW, I have checked virtually all of the online book stores.

Regards
Andrew

Are you sure that's the exact title? Do you have the author and/or the ISBN?

Yep, it's by Jerry Conrad and the ISBN is 0917376536.

Here's the page on Amazon:

Chris Craft - The Essential Guide (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0917376536/qid=1091464897/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/102-8031138- 7658503?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)

Thanks

Interesting. The Mariner's Museum, the publisher, doesn't list it on their website. AbeBooks also has no listing. Looks like you'll have to try to order it from Amazon, but you might try emailing the publisher first. They may know who has stock.

Have you checked with the Mariner's Museum (who published it) to confirm that they do not have any in stock? It is listed on this page of their website: http://www.mariner.org/print.html Their phone number is (800) 259-3916

Curious that they list it on their publications page, and sell it from there, but not through the museum shop's online Yahoo store.

I tried Amazon and they take the order, only to mail you back a month later saying they won't be able to fulfil it.

Bruce - thanks for the publishers info, I've just been on the phone to them an added myself to their 3 month old, page and a half long backorder list (there's hope yet !)

So, the search continues...

I only stumbled on the publications page of their site through a Google search. I suppose it reflects that fact that they, at least in theory, still publish the book, but do not have it in stock. Given that it was only published a year ago and is already sold out and that they have a lenghty waiting list it seems reasonably likely to me that they will go to a second printing. Of course it could be quite a few months before that happens. Good luck in your search for a Father's Day present.

According to Jerry, who attended our CCRendezvous a couple of weeks ago, the new edition will be out this fall, updated with some missed information. Until then, they are sold out.
:(

Thanks for the news Swietenia, I can wait until the Fall as long as I can get my hands on a copy then ! :D

Hi, If you haven't yet found the title, try addall.com. It integrates most of the big online seller nets and thus most brick and mortar bookstores, since almost all sell on the net.

Good Luck, Will

Hey there again ! Just to let you all know that the book has been republished and is now available for purchase from The Mariners' Museum Shop at 1 800 259-3916.

The cost for the book is $49.95 plus $8.50 for shipping and
