Does anyone know the name/make/model of the boat in Mercedes-Benz CL 600's promo pictures?

I can only give you my best guess. If its older (80s or earlier) its likely to be a Riva. If its a new boat it may be produced by another Italian maker like Comitti.

In any event certainly an attractive runabout.

Of course it's a RIVA. MB wouldn't make an Ad like that with a replica-boat since they want to create the image of elegance, speed and glamour which is linked to RIVA-boats.

A Riva Aquarama, I believe. Spectacular boat - got to inspect one closely in Bequia once. Did you know that Riva planked their boats using a single mahogany log so that the colour and grain characteristics would be consistant throughout the whole boat? Another 'off-the-deep-end' Riva technique was to use re-sawn planks for each strake so that when viewed head-on, the port side plank grain pattern would be a mirror image of the starboard plank.

It's only money, right? :D

(edit for dyslexic fingers again - can't type worth a damn anymore  )

I had a 1959 19 Ft. Century Resorter that had the 'mirror immage' planking - pretty wood - too bad they rot more than Chris Crafts
