Any one know of a good source for silk or felt used under Gumwood or Iron wood sheathing.

Silk or felt? Never heard of silk under sheathing. Double planking in days past was set in muslin and I suppose you could use silk the same way, but, hey, at the price of silk? I see no advantage to that at all. As for felt, well, what sort of sheathing? Irish felt is used under canvas decks and copper on bottoms, and between ballast keels and keels. That you can buy from Defender Marine and perhaps also from Jamestown Distributors. All the Irish felt I've used for the purposes mentioned above, however, is likely going to be thicker than you'd want for use between double planking... if that's your intention. In that instance, muslin's the thing.
