A good pic/write-up on the homecoming of 22 Fife III yachts in Sailing Magazine (Nov 2003)....all ages, from 109 year old "Hatasoo" to 3 year old replica "Seabird"...from 25 foot "Menai" to 95 foot "Moonbeam IV"..and the 15 Meter "Lady Anne" built in 1912.

So, anyone take this event in...and has some pics to post?

Seen another good review (Classic Boat I think). Drool stuff, but I'm not jealous, just gratefull that these boats have been preserved and are in use.
Wouldn't mind a video though, do you know if one was produced? :D

There was a website... I looked at it.
A friend of mine was there but I've only had a quick one off conversation about it to date.

and we sailed against MoonbeamIV in January when she was here. They couldn't make it go.

There is nothing quite as lovely as a ship under sail and a schooner must be the lovliest of them all! smile.gif

Even at rest, she is a beauty!

Wasn't Adix the one that got completely changed... new bow and stern and then re rigged? Owned by Alan Bond.?

She was here( here I go again .. I don't know whether it was 5 or if it was 10 years ago). We were sailing back from kawau Island in a half gale. It was the sail home from our christmas cruise and we'd been weathered in for days so we just wanted to go home. We left on a 25 kt forecast, it got upgraded to 40 kts when we out there and that's what it blew.. Anyway, I looked behind us and out of this rain squall was Adix charging along under all her lowers. Unreal.
