Hello,

This past May, I launched my 23-foot armed dory General Arnold, which I built with the guidance and advice graciously provided by WBF members. She has joined a flotilla of other 18th century boats that reenact life during the Revolutionary War. Last week she took part in her first engagement below the walls of Fort Ticonderoga on Lake Champlain. She perfomed tremendously, with nary a boat able to keep astern of us. Thanks again for all your help. I thought you might like to see some pics.

Your most humble and obedient servant,

Scott
Commanding, Gunboat General Arnold

HAH! A whiff of grape.......... Hmm, are you allowed to hunt ducks with that too?

Nice looking boat, what bore is the piece, and how does the boat react to a shot?

ha, probably wouldn't be much left to the duck if I could hit one. As far as recoil, I haven't fired a round shot(yet), but the kick from blank charges of 400 grains is minimal.

Nice!

A great addition the sport of Jet-skeet! :D

Where can I get a swivel like that?

18th century swivel guns and cannon can be purchased from several sources. I found mine at Gillmor Ordnance, Old Fort Ohio. Cannonmaster@msn.com (419) 992-4440
Are you looking for one for an 18th Century boat?
