Clean, Sweet Wind is a book you gotta check out. The subtitle is Sailing with the Last Boatbuilders of the Caribbean. Written by Douglas C. Pyle. It has drawings, pictures of boats a-building, even goes through the selection of wood through framing and planking. I ordered mine through interlibrary loan. Check it out.

Wonderful book...a real labour of love.

I posted a note about it, last year, in Misc. Boats, but had no replies.

I spent some time in Carriacou (Grenada), earlier this year. I took Pyle's book with me, and had a fine time looking for examples of the boats he describes.

Mrleft8 it is set in the Lesser Antilles and the Virgin Islands and it is the first complete work of it's kind.

Mrleft8, if you're spending time on Carriacou, you have to stay at Dave and Ulla's cottages.

He's a salty american ex-pat, who builds his own boats and knows all there is to know about these islands. She is a superb cook, who makes the best barracuda stew you'll ever eat. If you want details, drop me an email.
