I just heard on the radio that Maine is considering making the move.

Now that would be interesting!

Maybe it's a secret move to try to leave the US and join Canada! :D

This sounds good if Maine leaves, maybe they will take Massachusetts with them. :D

Actually, the only good result of changing the time zones is that it would confuse the heck out of the Mass' visitors. (with the notable exceptiomn of I McC, Ed H, Jim C and others of that state who post on here). I used to work in a hotel in Ogunquit, and would regularly get calls saying "What's the weather like?, we're coming up from Peabody" (all of 50 miles away)

Do you realize huisjen that even though you change time zones you are not changing your president?

Because God appointed him.

I hear Bush is hoping Maine will join Canada because that would be one less border he'd have to patrol.

Because Standard Time and mean solar time are more than an hour apart here.

Because it would further set us apart from the rest of the country, putting us in a different time zone from DC, NYC, etc. It would be one more thing to separate us from the rat-race of most of the rest of the east coast.

I suppose it would be almost as distinctive  ;) as Newfoundland being a half hour off from anybody else.
