Neither of the methods I know for posting pictures works anymore.

To get this,( our weather at the moment)... I've had to email myself a 'card' and steal the code off it.
give it a day or two I suppose.

Thanks Donn.

Last night I tried the old way and got that long, strange URL,too. What I ended up doing was right clicking on the opened photo and going down to the properties thingie. The URL listed there was the real one and worked for posting.

Way too much stuff in the URL.

www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid104/p589741df05199e4ea9fec (http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid104/p589741df05199e4ea9fec) 81d3e7b2603/f992ff5e.jpg

- Should be all you need.

And you had an extra space in the "sraid".

Nasty weather down there.

I gave up on imagestation months ago too slow to upload and constantly getting that "temporarily unavailable" thing drove me nuts... so over to shutterfly (http://www.shutterfly.com) I went... excellent!! fast uploads and just perfecktomungo

Im slowly going through my albums at imagestation downloading them and uploading to shutterfly... should be done in oooohhh bout a month or two :D

Paul, the point I was making is that I'm just using the same old method I've used since Photopoint went and the codes have all changed. Todds comment about finding it another way is promising, as is the fact that some can still find it the "old" way.
isobars like that mean trouble around here. My father is snugged down in his 30 footer in a bay up north with 40 knots howling through. Our classics regatta has been postponed for a week and a good thing that is .
Shane, they upgraded recently and it sped things up a bit.

I buy ya books and I buy ya books....

Instructions for posting pictures

Photo to be posted must be on the web and in a site that allows cross posting. Many Forum users use www.imagestation.com (http://www.imagestation.com) . This is a free site which seems to have unlimited storage, large picture size, and unlimited albums.

Upload your pictures to ImageStation and create your albums or leave the pics in the in box as you wish.
Pictures in ImageStation are displayed in three sizes: thumbnail, display and original. Left click on the thumbnail brings up the display photo, about 640 bits X 400 or so. A left click on the display photo brings up the photo in the original size you uploaded. Forget this one, except in rare cases which I cannot explain it cannot be cross linked. So....

Left click on the thumbnail to show the display version.

Right click on this picture.

Left click "Properties".

Highlight the Address [URL] and copy it (Ctrl/C).

Now go to The Forum and prepare your new message.
Write what you want as a preamble to your picture, then:

Below the message area is a button, "IMAGE". Left click it.

Paste the URL you copied above into the block displayed.
Note that the block contains http already highlighted. Just paste without doing any thing else so you don't get http twice.

Add what ever additional text you wish to add after the URL of the picture is displayed.

Click on the "Preview Post" button to confirm that what you want us to see will appear, then close the window.

Click the "Add Reply" button and standby for responses.
