I would like some assistance please.
In the fifties, Century used a number of different 'Fireball V-8' engines in their Resorters and Coronados. Do any of you know what size these engines were and which manufacturers' automotive blocks they were based on ?
I can only remember a 238 HP, ??? Cubic Inch (Ford?) Fireball V-8 engine. I apprecate any information that you might provide.
Thank you for your time.

Damn, hell to get to the age where you know something but are not sure you do.
Chrysler and Desoto early hemi's were called a fireball engine, I think. Seems like the early ones were about 354 c.i..
I'm sure there are some old hotrodder types out there that have a better memory than me.

Thank you Gentlemen !
When memories begin to fade, it's nice to have a backup. Hemis, Cadillacs etc. Thank you both. I went to the Century Boat Club site. It was great to see their boats again. Beautifully finished, floating furniture that loved to go fast. Ahhhhh.....
Thanks again.
The "Fireball" engines Century used were Graymarine engines. They had a variety of sizes...the boat in On Golden Pond, was a 1950 Resorter 17, with an 140hp 6-cyl inboard Graymarine Fireball. Others had 327ci V-8's.
GM's Buick division had aluminum V-8's and V-6's called Fireball, in the 60's; and in the late 30's, Buick had a straight-8 engine called Fireball.
