Today, hopefully, will be last day going backward.
We are going to remove the strip planking to the edge of the floor frames (double, diag. white dots)These were fastened with #8 x 11/4 steel screws! Hence the rust halos.Most of the planks are ok, but heavily impregnated with saltwater and stained.I figure it is easier to replace than refasten.
Question: Bearing in mind the strips are 42x20mm,and the floor frames are sawn 75mm wide by varying depths, what gauge s/bronze fasteners would be appropriate? The floor frames also carry the keel/mast loads.
