CARVILLE CRACKS UP ON 'PRESS'

Mon Nov 15, 3:16 AM ET Entertainment - PageSix Gossip/Celeb

THE yolk's on Clinton political guru James Carville who shocked everyone on "Meet the Press" yesterday morning by smashing a raw egg on his head.

The point?

To dramatize the fact that he had egg on his face after wrongly predicting that Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites) was going to win the presidential election.

"Meet the Press" host Tim Russert and Republican strategist Mary Matalin, who is Carville's wife, jumped out of the way to keep from being drenched by the flying egg white.

Carville known as the Ragin' Cajun for his fiery partisanship predicted Kerry would get 52 percent of the vote and President Bush (news - web sites) 47 percent.

That projection was really scrambled because, in the end, the final tally turned out to be eggs-actly the opposite of the eventual vote tally.

Carville is one of the few LIBERALS who has the courage to live in the real world. He knows and has said his party is not connecting with the majority of Americans. He knows what a disaster the 'hate Bush' campaign was. He knows his party ran a terrible candidate. He knows that any LIBERAL presidental candidate who aligns themselves with scum like Moore will lose and keep on losing. I predict that scum like Moore will never be heard or seen in 2008. (Maybe by then he will have dropped dead anyway.) Just like Fonda was never seen with Kerry this time.

I went to bed on election night after hearing him start refering to Bush being "re-elected". His fellow panalists tried to chastise him for being presumptious. He just gave them a withering glare and said, "Face it, the 'spin' is done here, it is what it is..."

His style may be "abrasive", and his partisinship transparant, but he IS good at what he does.

Being the partisan democrat that he is, I've never cared for him, but he is a political animal. He understands trends and reality, and unless he is saying what the dems want to hear they'll never listen to him.

Until they are ready to face that they have left middle America behind they will continue to lose elections. Carville knows that.
