ALZHEIMER'S

This is our anthem, this is our song:
We're singing it now for
Soon 'twill be gone
'Tis writ on our tee shirts,
Our rollicking rune
If only, if only
We reckon the tune.

Eastern religions extol the cow
And gurus evoke the Here and the Now.
Alzheimer's shows us this powerful fact
That Hereing and Nowing
Is where it is at.

Dad had it. Mom has it.

Trouble is neither knew where "here" was nor what they were doing "now".

Dreadful disease.

My dad too, and his sister ... his mom died from it.

Clearly, my turn's gonna come.

Clearly, my turn's gonna come.Depends. My brother and I are clearly concerned. Your family's history points to genetics. My family's history might indicate enviornment. It's a crap shoot at best. My plan is to hit the open road with my tent, boat & bike the day after I retire. Visit all the places I've been dreaming of since forever. Spend my daughter's inheritance while I still have half a brain.

Spending the inheritance early sounds good.

I think the Alzheimer's genetics will get me, though there are some advances in research which might get there first. It's interesting, having a pretty good idea of the name of the bullet aimed my way a couple of decades hence.

Then again, I might get hit by a bus tomorrow instead. Much better to set my affairs in order, and live now.

Knocked off my bicycle by the land equivalent of the speed boat in the fog. Either beats wasting away not knowing who or where I am.

New Brunswick is on my list of places to go. Hope to see you while I'm able. :D The first Moosehead or Keet's is on me!

I'm in, while I still have half a brain! Maybe the Irish Pub can finish off the other half! :D

Or, you may live to be 100 and sharp as a tack. Genetics is a crap shoot.

Aluminum brain plaques!
Please throw away all aluminum cookware, I even wonder about aluminum soda cans but they say they are coated.
When you cook with aluminum pans you are being poisened with aluminum, especially with acidic foods.
I dont think enough people know about the link but I think there is one. Aluminum did not use to be a problem because people had such a low exoposure to the metal, but now it is everywhere, pots, pans, cans.

Also aluminum foil and what metal pans do people cook turkey in? ALUMINUM
If they ever acknowledged the link between aluminum cookware and alzheimers, think of the economic cosequences to businesses. They have a massive interest is surpressing any such knowledge.

Wow, I just ate a Hershey's Kiss and just realized it was covered with aluminum foil.
And quess what, you dont know if the processed foods you eat were squeezed thru aluminum tubing or passed along aluminum chutes. And the ends of the bisquits container is made of aluminum.
My wife makes spritz cookies by squeezing thru aluminum dies, how about the ones you buy in the stores?

So aluminum is also present in antipersperant and absorbed by the body goes straight to the brain.

I saw a tv show showing the making of candies, quess what aluminum parts in contact with the food were everywhere to be seen in that factory.
bowls, etc... There is a massive amount of aluminum used to process most everything we eat that is processed in a food plant.

So are they afraid to pursue the aluminum connection? I am surprised the media has not grabbed onto it or is it being surpressed.

Now I find that aluminum is added to drinking water to help clean it.

Aluminum
Aluminum sulphate (alum) has an essential function in the water treatment process. It helps remove harmful micro-organisms and particles by making them clump together into larger particles so they can be filtered out of the water supply. Although most of the aluminum is removed during the treatment process, a small amount remains in the water.

A research study published in the Canadian Journal on Aging reported a possible link between aluminum levels above 250 ppb in water and Alzheimer's Disease. Extensive research has been conducted, however medical researchers have not concluded that aluminum causes Alzheimer's Disease. Toronto Water closely monitors aluminum levels in drinking water from the filtration plants and levels are below the Ontario guideline levels. The average aluminum level in water produced at our water treatment plants during 1995 was 63 ppb.

When we got back from Desert Storm, the ship's store had a sale on cases of soda in aluminum cans. Seems they needed to sell it quick, because the carbonic acid sugar water was disolving the aluminum and some cans were starting to get leaks!!

Every can sold today is coated with either an M-F or an epoxy resin. If they are dissolving, then there was a serious flaw in their manufacture.

(My old mentor when I first started working as a chemist used to work in the can coatings biz and he had all kinds of fascinating stories of having to go out and trouble-shoot customer problems when cans started springing leaks. The worst one had to do with about 100,000 leaking cans of Alpo in a hot warehouse. A truly yummy smell, or so the story goes.)

Make sure your lifestyle allows you to die before getting Alzheimer's dz. Your body must die before your brain. The basis as to you gettin' Alzheimer's resides in your genetic code. ---Bukuboy
