I have.... Twice.... I think I have it again. The doctor will get his bucks, and dose me up with microbe destroying goop.... GAH! Why can't they make "Frontline" for humans? If it doesn't kill cats or dogs, what if I put some between MY shoulderblades so I can't lick it off?

From what I've read Doug, this is a dicey diagnosis with lots of false positives. What made you go to the doctor?
You're in the zone where you live. We've got it here too, but nothing like the prevalence in SNE. Good luck, and if in doubt get a second opinion by someone who specializes in it.

My mother's very good friend is Dr. Kenny, who was on the original Lyme disease team.....Back when it was called "Lyme arthritis" and the tick was called "Xodese Dominea"... I went to school with the very first 3 boys that were finally diagnosed with "Lyme" after years of being told they had juvenial arthritis. I have pulled at least 25 Lyme ticks off of me in the last 3 weeks. I have the classic low grade fever, achey tired feel like sh!t symptoms. I've had it twice..... I'm pretty sure I have it again. I just gotta get the Doctor to goop me up. I go tomorrow.

I believe they imunise against that here in southern Germany.
That and another tick-favourite - FSME (Early Summer Mengolococal Ensephilitis).

Lefty I had it once MAN O MAN thought I was gonna die. No way not to know I didn't have it bad, Migraine headache, fever, and sleep, I would fall a sleep on tuesday and wake up on friday. Finally went to the Doctor on friday morning and she looked me over saw the tick bite and classic bulls-eye pattern, and set me up with 1500 mg amoxacilian for 2 months. Couldn't drink booze for two months - ya know what thats like for an irishman
Anyway my hippy dippy herbalist tenant concocted some stuff that works better than front-line. I use it on Lucky and he never gets ticks on him anymore. I use it on myself when I go into the woods.
She writes about it on her website http://www.ladybarbara.net/
*LYME DISEASE
* -how I recovered COMPLETELY from EIGHT separate sieges of it

And her miracle preventative is here.

Good luck Doug, (I hope the doctor tells you to give up smoking) Interesting website Joe. Your neighbour complements your style.

can't use the tick collar with two dawgs as one is a habitual licker - kill by licking could be a new CSI segment. Not wanting to be commercial but anyone here who wants this let me know & i'll send it wholesale www.rynoskin.com, (http://www.rynoskin.com,) non chemical etc.

Last week (during my final balls-to-the-wall push to get the boat launched wouldn't ya know?) I had a painfully swollen knee, fever of 103, aches, chills, etc.
The emergency room gang out in Essex was pushing pretty hard for a Lyme disease diagnosis, but the bloodwork came back negative, which left cellulitis. Then they were pushing hard to get me to check into the hospital for a few days, but that just wasn't an option.
Three rounds of IV antibiotics, two different kinds of oral antibiotics, and a week of keeping my leg up in the air as much as possible and I still don't have it licked.
I hope you fare better.
(by the way, frontline does a number on your dog's liver. We crush a half-clove of garlic into Grover's food instead.)

My back rock wall is a stones throw to lyme. Son just finished up his meds for lymes. I have had serious runs with it twice now. It'll knock you out flat if left to fester.
You need a 10x eye piece to find the deer ticks. My theory is when the wind blows these deer ticks are air borne covering that much more ground. Yep tick checks are a daily event.
My inital treatment of any tick bite/attachment is bath the site in tea tree oil every few hours and take recommended doses of selenium as well as upping my vitamin C intake.

Are you a dealer in this rynoskin Con? How much does a suit of it retail for? Is it hot? I looks like long underwear and I would hate to wear long underwear in the summer.

I had it once about 10 years ago. It was difficult to diagnosis. I had all the horrible symptoms mentioned by others here. With treatment it eventually went away.
Sailing every day is one cure. It also helps in recuring cases like your's Doug. ;)
Good luck Lefty

The Doctor said that they don't bother testing for it anymore, because the tests are so unreliable... Lots of false negatives... So... Doxycylin twice a day for 30 days... Hope I'm not one of the 15% who get the nasty reaction to sun...
