View Full Version : Bose 201 Speakers?

A pair of Bose 201 speakers is one of my choices for a 20 year longevity award from the company I work for. Does anyone have a pair? How do they sound?

I don't have them, but I've listened to them for hours. Excellent speakers. What are the other choices?

"I bought them because they fit a certain bookcase." Caveat emptor.

Other choices range from art prints to jewelery to a three room tent. Five years ago I got a Bulova Mariner watch that I still haven't gotten around to having a link taken out of the band so it fits.

The page with the speakers also has a mountain bike, gas grill, gas smoker, a Dewalt router, a Dewalt circular saw, a fishing pole and a hammock.

Don't know from nothing about Bose 201 speakers, but I did just have my Advents rebuilt. I drive them with a NAD 1020 preamp and a Carver 250 power amp. Awesome brass, fabulous with the Mecury recording of T's 1812 overture.

Get the hammock.

The 301 speaker was probably one of the toughest bookshelf speakers out there in it's day...

Hey, get something you can use...

Gotta love those old Advents... :D ;)

If Cambridge Soundworks do speakers like they do high-end table radios, they'd blow the doors off Boise, NAD's or not! ;)

By coincidence I have an NAD amp.

Oh, THANK YOU for that leading line! :D

I have a couple of NAD's myself! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Do not know anything about this product. But: had a pair of Bose headphones. $150. Crappy design fell apart in several months. Luckily store traded me for a pair of Sennheisers. Much better.

My impression is that Bose spends too much money on advertising rather than r&d.

Choice of Brinkman Smoke N' Pit Pitmaster grill with temperature gauge and Brinkman stainless steel gas grill/smoker/fryer

Since the speakers got such rave reviews the Ross mountain bike is looking good.

Bose will last well, but aren't as bright as some, like polks for example. But polks don't last worth beans. For most people's ears the bose are fine. A lot depends on what you're listening to now.

You can find a bose store and listen to any and all of the possible bose speaker options, if you're interested.

Advents, carvers, NAD preamps--ed you're showing your age! and good taste.

I can't vouch for the 201s, but I have a pair of 901s that I love.
