I have just about ranted myself blue in the face about King Bush II, the war in Iraq, and the vast petroleum-imperialist agenda that is fueling America's drive towards an Orwellian police state. It frustrates me to watch the apparent majority of people walking around in the country with their heads up their asses. So many clueless idiots just don't get it - that this war is wrong, that our leadership is morally corrupt, and that this country is well on it's way to total ruin. We as Americans are sitting back and watching other Americans murder, rape, and torture helpless human beings in the context of being "patriotic" or "defending the homeland". More and more people are becoming totally brainwashed by the corporate-fascist version of proper American life : bust your ass day in and day out to barely survive, pay a nice chunk of your wages to a government that is evil incarnate, buy a gas-guzzling sport utility vehicle, get a 60 inch plasma television, gulp down some Coca Cola and Viagra, and sleepwalk your way through life in an endless cycle of purchase, consume, waste, purchase consume, waste...All the while ignoring the injustices and indignities going on all around in plain view.
To become hardened or totally ignorant to (or both) the suffering going on in the world, much of it carried on in the name of "freedom", "democracy" and "human rights". With the daily delivery of petty comforts, fleeting entertainments, and sinful pleasures, the corporate-government-conglomerate has bought America's soul. Americans now think it is right or OK to unilaterally invade another distant nation in clear violation of international law (the same international law America helped create). Americans now think it is alright to occupy and brutally subjugate another culture's civilian population. Americans now think it is fine and dandy to dehumanize, degrade, and destroy another people's sacred sites, religious customs, and cultural symbols. Americans now think it is acceptable to rape, sodomize, sexually dominate, beat, torture, mind****, imprison, and murder other human beings because they are different and because we have sufficiently dehumanized them to satisfy our corrupted conscience. We are witnessing the culmination of a nation's collective spiritual/moral death. This nation and most Americans have now lost their souls and they are hopelessly lost in the vast sea of denial, ignorance, and self-absorption. Their warped view of the world is dictated by the ever-present filter of corporate-elitist propaganda, and their own judgement has been rendered impotent by a lifelong conditioning of apathy, selfishness, and rationalization.
In the looming face of such hardened brainwashing and desperate, hypocritical denial, I cannot hope to talk sense into any noticeable number of people who need a wake-up call. Is it my "job" to get through to these people? Of course not. And I am finding this constant drain of vitriol towards the Elitist-American-Police-State is robbing me of creative energy that I could be putting towards more fruitful ends. So in this interest, this will be my last rant against George W. Bush, the War In Iraq, and the War on Terror. What you are reading now in my last gasp of scorn, disdain, and contempt for the growing pile of **** that this country is becoming. After this final bit of raving on the subject, I will shut the **** up about geo-politics and war. I PROMISE. I admit, this will be hard since this is a subject that I find myself hopelessly fascinated by. But no matter how tempted I might be, I will instead turn that energy towards writing humor, satire (of a non-political nature), topical editorials, and perhaps some more fiction and verse. Another project I am gearing up for is the creation of my online herbal shop stocked with homegrown botanicals. But enough about what I will be eventually writing about, let's get back to the subject - AMERICA AND AMERICANS BECOMING ****e.
I have said it from the very beginning, long before the War In Iraq, the War in Afghanistan, and dubious events that transpired on September 11th, 2001. I have been saying the same thing since the days of Ruby Ridge, The Branch Davidian massacre, and the War on Drugs.
The American government and the people responsible for policing the government have become hopelessly derelict, and corrupted. We have strayed from our once-noble (I hope) course and our nation has deviated down a path that ultimately leads to authoritarian plutocracy, the spread of racist imperialism, and the subjugation of the human spirit in the name of comfort and greed. I am befuddled as to why more seemingly intelligent people cannot recognize or adequately appreciate this fact. Are most people just this ****ing stupid? Can this many people be so goddamned selfish and naive? I guess my own judgement regarding the character of others is not so accurate as I once thought. Because so many people that I had figured were intelligent enough to eventually see the truth, have failed to come around to reason. They continue to find new excuses and rationalizations to justify their own moral laziness and their mind-numbing lack of judgement. As more and more people go down the road of conformity towards mainstream patriotism and consumerism, I stand by on the sidelines and watch the teeming throngs of lemmings march by to their life of vapid robot-like behavior. Amongst the crowds I count people who were once associates, friends, acquantainces, family, and other people who I once admired or thought favorably of. What happened? Why are so many people behaving this way? Why do so many people continue to approve of the course of this nation? Why do I give a **** ?
And that is the root of the problem right there - I give a **** . I shouldn't, but I do. Honestly, and I am being lucid here, I really shouldn't give a flying ape****e. But for some reason it really bothers me to sit back in apparent futility, while this nation becomes a monstrous juggernaut of greed, perversion, and evil. So what if I am allowed to have my own tiny little island of isolation and interest while the rest of the planet degenerates into a massive cluster****. In my own self-interest, I am going to work really hard NOT TO GIVE A ****e. Well, let me clarify, I will give a **** , just not so damn much. In other words, you won't hear about nearly as much. I am wasting my time and breath speaking the truth to the a world full of robots who have no interest whatsoever of waking up and becoming enlightened. So, to the idiots, robots, sleepwalkers, sheeple, background people, and flag-waving consumerist fools, let me have the final word on a few subjects. I will be very brief and concise, so most of you can finally run off to American Idol, Nascar races, video games, rap music, or whatever mindless diversion you have lined up to fill the ever-vacant hole in your soul.
1) President George W. Bush : elitist, racist, pathological liar, hypocrite, and does not possess a single ounce of integrity. One of the worst leaders this nation has ever had.
2) The War in Iraq : a deadly excerise in greed and imperialism. A possibly-staged national tragedy gives liscence to invade a distant third-world nation, occupy it's land, subjugate it's people, drain it's natural resources, and destroy it's sovereignity. A war based on a foundation of lies, laid by groups of expert liars fueled by self-interest and monetary profit. It is now a meatgrinder to chew up and kill thousands of souls.
3) Saddam Hussein and Weapons of Mass Destruction : a paper-tiger dictator that America groomed and helped create. His once-arsenal of chemical and biological weapons is nowhere to be found and any evidence of such an arsenal has failed to surface despite desperate searching. The president and his cabinet of warmongers used this handy excuse to carry out their own personal agenda of elitist-racist imperialism - all while blatantly lying to the American public.
4) The War on Terror : the latest "war on..." something to justify more and more Draconian legislation that will ultimately lead to the Orwellian Police State that the rich white old men so desperately want to ensure their own positions of privilidge. Much like the War on Drugs, this war has an entirely arbitrary enemy that has been defined by parties with no moral, ethical, or legal credibility. "Drugs" meant any substance that the government could not control which expanded the mind. Now, "terrorists" are enemies of the state that do not smoke Marlboros, drink Pepsi, buy Hollywood DVD movies, and buy into the crypto-fascist nonsense that is the "American Dream".
5) Brainwashed America : most Americans don't give a ****e and don't CARE to give a ****e about what is going on around their world in their name. Most Americans blindly pay their taxes to fund and enable a global agenda of evil (for lack of a better word). And most Americans justify this by rationalizing themselves into a state of deep and apathetic denial.
So, in summation, I give up on you background people. Rock on with your bad selves. Go on about your sick business of exploiting the misery of other human beings. Continue on with your hypocritical moral posturing, your ignorant jargon-soundbite-babble, your bumper stickers, your flags, your yellow ribbons, your $40,000 SUV's, and empty meaningless lives. I wash my hands of you. I must do this to save vital energy for my own journey to eventual enlightenment. Your misdeeds and woes have been dragging me down with the weight of their collective hideousness, but now I officially absolve myself of any responsibility. I live my life the correct and positive way (or at least I honestly strive to), and I cannot worry myself any longer over the actions or inactions of other grown-up adult humans who do not possess backbone or mental acuity. If you count yourself as a "good American", a "patriot" or "god-fearing" then I say : I PITY YOU.

I will not, under penalty of deep disappointment, engage in any further poltical ranting that involves : the war in Iraq, America's president, or the state of America's public*.
