I have a Catspaw Dinghy under construction. have built and set up the molds - attached all ribbands - put together the stem and transom. Have not yet cut the rabbets on the stem or keel.
I bought the plans from Wooden Boat which call for carvel planking but I would prefer to go with lapstrake (for the appearance). Is this possable and is it too late to make the change???

The Catspaw is Joel White's version of a Herreshoff dinghy. His major change was to draw it as a carvel planked boat. erreshoff always built these boats lapstrake. Go for it planking 1/4-5/16, rivet schedule every 2 inches, ribs 9/16 square.
