Just got the final coat of paint on my dory. How long do I have to wait for it to dry before I get this thing in the water? I have been waiting 24 hours between coats and sanding. The weather's been great for painting and varnishing -- low humidity, warm, not hot, temps, breezy. I'm using Kirby's oil base semigloss.
Thanks, Doug

You can probably just put it in the next day. The paint takes about a week to reach its full hardness, but it should handle the water just fine after a day of drying.

Thanks for the info. So for tender paint the problem isn't the water, it's getting the boat there. With the weather we're having I won't be launching anytime soon -- whitecap city! even in the harbor. Then there's all the details I still need to take care of. At least I finally got the color right.
