... and leaves out any fiscal fixes or private accounts, according to the Associated Press. Hmmm... it's almost like dissing the prez! :D

While I tend to be more conservative, I find this very interesting.

When you can't even get your own party to introduce legislation including ideas you've spent months and dollars and political capital on, it's a dis no matter how good a face you try to put on it.

Don't waste your breath, Meer.... the hardcore right wingers are NEVER going to admit that Bush has gotten spanked on his privatization scheme... they'll find SOME spin to turn defeat into a presumed 'victory'.

I wonder if liberalism is a comunicatable sickness if so that would explaine why reputitablly conservite senitors like bennet act like teddy kennedy when they get to washington DC

I didn't put any face on it, you did. Bush told Bennett to introduce the bill. Then he went out and said that he still wanted private accounts to be a part of the SS overhaul.

There is nothing to spin in this.

seafox - liberalism is not a religion of peace. Have you noticed how the most abusive and venal individuals on this Forum are the liberals? So much for inclusiveness, appreciation for and encouragement of diversity, peace to all, kum by ya. What a crock.

You obviously have not been around here for very long.

You also, obviously, don't know what you're talking about.

When the idea of private accounts is totally rejected by every single person in the country, the neocons will declare it a victory for Bush for, 'having started a national dialog.'

I've been around here much longer than you have. And, thanks for hitting the ball out of the park.

First, don't play with the troll.

Second, if this Republican plan doesn't address the fiscal viability of SS and doesn't include personal accounts, what does it do? Why bother?

RE the number of my posts: # of posts doesn't equate to how long one's been reading the Forum.

No, but it might very well equate to someone slinking back in after being banned. tongue.gif

You shouldn't play Sherlock Holmes - you won't make a living from it.
