Iraq may not be the unmitigated failure we seem to think it is. A thousand casualties, frequent bombings, etc. Certainly not enough of a success for Bush to claim unambiguously. But there are good things happening over there. The Kurds are being restored to their homes in the north, and in the south the marshes were restored. If I were an Iraqi I guess I would be ambivalent about being occupied, but I think it's safe to say for many Iraqis the future looks brighter than it has for a long time.
