I once sat my parents down with an appropriate libation (most productive ;) )and the old box of photos equipped with a tape recorder.

I put a number on the back of the photo, and referenced the number during the conversation - which was one sided on their part - I just asked leading questions.

I haven't transcribed these tapes yet, but I ought to soon, before the machinery no longer exists to play back the tapes!

Uncas, from the look at your photo, I imagine so much water has gone under the bridge that it would take a stroke of fortune to decipher who's who!

This was done before home computer capability allowed CD records.

I know...and I wish it wasn't the only one..
Considering they are Russian..and White Russians to boot...there are probably no official records left either...

We have aphoto of a blacksheep uncle and group of native Americans taken about 1885 in the "Indian Territory" now known as Oklahoma. We think some of them may be in-laws.

Just how capable/ competent are you at writing fiction? It doesn't matter who all those people had been, who do you want them to be? Don't you realize that you come from royalty, and not just any royalty but Russian royalty.

Remember pygmalion. That hairy pest from Budapest.

Awww well! you can dream I guess. :D
