View Full Version : College Football and the BCS

I just saw an article that the BCS is looking to replace the AP with something else in helping to determine Bowl Eligibility.

Here's my idea, and I thought I would bounce it off of you all...

Every game you win counts as one point. However that point is then mulitplied by the winning percentage of the team you defeated. The ten highest scores are then paired off against each other at the end of the season in the BCS Bowl Games. In my opinion this would...

1...Encourage stronger schedules as you would ideally want your opponent to only lose to you.

2...Make EVERY GAME count. When Central Mich plays Western Mich at the end of the year it would be a big deal because CMU played Miami at the beginning of the year while WMU played Tenn and they are both vying for big bowl bids.

3...There would be no opinions. It's just straight up math.

4...It would do away with the natural bias of preseason rankings. It's a well known fact that it's easier to stay in the top 10 than it is to get into the top 10.

Just a thought.

Anything would be better than what we have.
