Most of me abhors the thought of the PWC crowd suddenly surfacing in front of me at high speed, or shooting along on what appears to be a collision course, only to submerge and ram into my keel.

...and then there's this other part of me that says, wow, that'd be fun!

Is that an oxygen tank for underwater running?

At least the operator is the only one that has to hear the damn thing!
I can only assume that it remains at one atmosphere and has a snorkel to provide sufficient combustion air to run those engines. One of the least pleasant parts of riding an old fleet boat dieseling submerged in the North Atlantic in the winter time was having the snorkel head valve shut when a large sea washed over it. Picture 90 guys pinching their noses and equalizing as one when it reopened.
I wonder what keeps this thing from crumpling?

Our tv news showed an extended video clip of this craft performing on Auckland harbour. It seemed that it porpoised rather than staying submerged for any length of time.
