Can someone actually explain the exact meaning of TROLL ? as regarding this forum . I feel really silly asking since I have come across this
term so often now. :confused:

Trolling is the practice of throwing out some sort of inflamatory remark(s) to get the crowd stirred up, usually without any real stake in the argument.

It's more complex than that. Some trolls are looking to disrupt a board, by any means. But some trolling is kinda like the flash of a whitetail deer, come hither, look.
With destructive intention, a strong troll can wreck havock. They get people worked to a frenzy. But I trolled when I asked about great apes at the end. Not to get people worked, just to hear their opinions and thoughts and sorrows.
There are good and bad trolls.

I wonder if a bad troll is simply the absence of interest in the stated topic...I've asked queations and started threads in which I was interested in what folks thought or in countering a notion I didn't agree with...etc.
