A few years ago they were talking about using it for window glass,if the price came down.

I saw a reference to it being used in expedition clothing. When it was first showing up in science publications there was some mention of very high capacitors but haven't seen anything lately.

Somebody is using it for insulation in marine refrigerators.

Aerogel has some applications, though I was not privvy to any (that I recall) during my days in defense aerospace engineering. However, a close associate of mine, when she left her job with our corp r & d lab, was given, as a going away present,a little plastic box containing some aerogel. I presume that if our r & d folks had it around we were either using in a design or else investigating uses for it.
