Hey Guys,

I just wanted to let you know that Megs is nearly finished with Marine Boot Camp; less than 2 weeks. Her Mother got a letter last week. The Btn made it through the "Crucible", a 52 hour, 40 mile excercise in sleep depreviation, physical strain, and mental fatigue........
And...in her final Personal fitness Test, she scored 300.....of a possible 300.
This girl, she has so much heart, so much "try", and tenacity.... there are no words. Wish I could post a picture, but I don't have that ability right now.

Funny how this circle goes. We are the strong and wise, the heros of our children. Then somewhere along the way.....I dunno.... this baby girl, this child, this amazing young person, this truly spectacluar young lady, this beautiful young woman is now my hero. ;)

Congratulations Garland and Megan. What a relief! Any indication of her MOS?

She loved them. She told me to tell all the forumites hello...... I am sorry I forgot to post that on the previous thread. Megs hasn't had much time for correspondence.....

Thank you all for supporting her. :D ;)

Hey all,

I got a letter from Megs yesterday. She is ready to have it done. She graduates on the 20th. Her Mom and Mia (little sis) will be in attendance.

Megs is thinking of just going directly to MCT (Marine Combat training) at Camp Lejune, instead of taking her 10 day leave option. She will be able to come home after MCT though for the 10 day leave......guess I may have to wait a bit longer to see my girl, hold her in my arms.

Megs says Hi..... I don't have the heart to tell her about Norm. All your well wishes got her through some tough days of boot in the early going. I hope to take a day or two of leave when she gets home. She's one of my dearest friends. I want to make certain she knows how proud I am of her.....she's too hard on herself most of the time.
