I'm sure we've all owned one.

When I was a kid in the early 60's, I saved almost a year to get the $185 or so I needed to put a new B&S 3.5 H.P. engine in my minibike. Last year I bought a "Lowe's Special on Sale" lawn mower for $139 with, you guessed it, a 3.5 horse Brigg's & Stratton. If it had been a side-shaft, I think I might have bought two of them, and went back to riding minibikes in the off season.

It's annoying that the ones I need are the horizontal shaft type (irrigation pump motor, walking tractor (snowplow) motor, log splitter motor...), but the ones I can occasionally get free and working at the dump are vertical shaft.

What's it take to covert it?
Will the parts from one, fit the other's block?
